“He was sunshine, I was midnight rain
He wanted it comfortable,
I wanted that pain,
He wanted a bride,
I was making my own name.” ─ Taylor Swift, Midnight Rain
Sometimes relationships fails due to regret, sometimes through their wrong motives, Yet there is a percentage where it will eventually fail due to choosing to save themselves instead letting someone help them fix them.
There are people who choose to be by themselves over a relationship, knowing the consequences and chances they have to give up. When it comes to their future plans, partners in a relationship tell they see both of them in it but in fact it’s lies where they only see themselves ─ alone in a life where they feel comfortable in their own solitudes.
They sacrifice their willingness to love for their sake of peace and their future. When they want nothing but the best for themselves, yet sometimes they don’t realize this will be selfish act not realizing their partners are also humans.
They may want the best for their partners, yet sometimes they become selfish for their yearnings for a better future that has for them.
The guy wanted a wife, who would be there for him when needed and to aid him when he has fallen and needed to retreat. Yet, the girl wanted to make a future for herself with the ambition to see herself in a better state for her to live.
When both of their perspectives collide, this shows that there are people who would risk in a relationship when the person they love has long given up and decides to focus on herself instead.
At the end, both of them go to their own individual paths. Where one tries to move on from it’s broken expectations and yearnings to work, and one where she tries to thrive with her own solitudes and grasps to reach the triumph she yearned for.
